Everton have staged a plethora of talented players at Goodison Park over the years.

Romelu Lukaku is a notable example as he’s gone on to score over 300 goals in his career, winning multiple pieces of silverware.

Jarrad Branthwaite appears to be the next Everton gem who could genuinely reach that world-class status.

Though, there have been examples of players not quite making the grade at Goodison Park but flourishing elsewhere.

That’s certainly the case for one of their former attackers who they sold as he’s now statistically become the best player in Serie A.

Ademola Lookman becomes the best player in Serie A

Since leaving Everton in a £22m deal in 2019, Ademola Lookman has been on a steady rise to become one of Europe’s most feared attackers.

In fact, Lookman was even nominated for the Ballon d’Or award earlier this month after his sensational year at Atalanta.

The 27-year-old finished 14th in the world rankings after his hat-trick in the Europa League final catapulted him to superstardom.

Now, it’s just come to light, that Lookman has registered the most goals and assists in Serie A this calendar year, making him statistically the best player in the division.

The former Everton man netted a brace against league leaders Napoli on Sunday afternoon to take his total goal involvements to a staggering 27 in 2024.

Lookman now wanted by Chelsea and Arsenal

Lookman is entering the final 18 months of his contract at Atalanta and could return to the Premier League.

Chelsea showed an interest in Lookman during the summer transfer window but ultimately, they didn’t meet his £51m valuation.

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain were also linked and could reignite their interest in the January transfer window.

Lookman, who’s been labelled ‘world class’ per SABC Sport, is thought to be open to leaving Italy for England.
