David Moyes might be looking at striker options for next season as Beto and Youssef Chermiti will want to prove themselves.
It looks clear that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will leave Everton as the striker’s nine-season tenure with the Toffees is coming to an end.
With The Friedkin Group after a striker, this might leave Beto and Chermiti wanting to fight for their place.
Beto has proven his worth so far through some brilliant second-half of the season form, but the jury is still out on Chermiti.
It would likely be a friendly rivalry if the two had to fight over the striker spot, as something ‘crazy’ happened before the pair made their moves.

Youssef Chermiti reveals what Beto said before Everton move
Chermiti has had a torrid spell on the sidelines, so the 20-year-old hasn’t been able to get his chance since his £9m move in the summer of 2023.
Beto has had more success but will still have to convince Moyes across a full season.
Either way, both should remain at Everton, but Moyes could seek to find a new striker, which will see their status come under threat.
With that being said, it seems like the pair have a great relationship off the pitch, and Chermiti recalled their first meeting, which proved to be ‘crazy’.
Speaking to Everton’s media, Chermiti said he met Beto for the first time whilst at Sporting, and what he said blew his mind.
“In that summer, I was feeling so confident that it was going to be my season with Sporting,” said Chermiti.
“I changed my squad number, I was preparing well… As it happens, I remember that around that time, I was eating in a restaurant in Lisbon, and I met Beto for the very first time.
“We had a normal conversation. We knew of each other, but it was the first time we met, and he told me, ‘Keep going, kid, you’ve been doing well’, and I thanked him and that was that.
“Then, literally one month later, we’d both signed for Everton. It was crazy!”

Chermiti should look to get experience away from Everton
With a potential new striker in line to join Everton, Chermiti needs to put his career first.
Everton fans have seen Romelu Lukaku in Chermiti, proving the striker has a high ceiling, but he might not be ready for the Everton test just yet.
Moyes will no doubt achieve his wish of a new forward with The Friedkins’ backing, so Chermiti should look for a loan move next season.
With Beto seemingly back in the frame as a second choice, the 20-year-old won’t want minimal game time, and a move to the Championship, for example, won’t only improve him, but Chermiti can get a better understanding of the English game.
