David Moyes will want to sign his transfer targets in the summer window, but knowing Everton, it will never be smooth sailing.
There seems to be clear ambition from The Friedkin Group, who are aiming for a successful window.
Moyes could be tapping into the transfer market as we speak, looking into some talents in the world of football.
A surprising suggestion has come from Troy Deeney who said Everton should sign Jamie Vardy.
There is no denying he’s a Moyes-type of player, but another of the Everton boss’ transfer wishes has been completely ruled out.

Everton signing Ernest Nuamah ruled out after announcement
Ernest Nuamah seemed to be the number one priority for Everton in January.
It seemed likely that Nuamah would join Everton after Moyes revealed interest, but the winger chose to stay at Lyon.
This got fans thinking whether a summer transfer could be in the works, as Nuamah was valued at £17m, but a recent revelation has firmly put that to bed.
Nuamah had hit a good vein of form for the French side, which excited Evertonians, but the unfortunate news came out after Lyon’s 2-1 win vs Lille that Nuamah had suffered an ACL injury in an announcement from Lyon’s club media.
The setback could see him miss the start of the 2025/26 season, putting an end to Everton’s pursuit.

Everton shouldn’t give up on Nuamah as a future transfer
It’s such a shame for the Ghanaian, who has been firing on all cylinders since the Toffees sparked their interest.
Jake O’Brien labelled Nuamah ‘exciting’, having played with each other at Lyon, and Moyes can see why the 21-year-old gets such praise after his performances.
| Nuamah statistics for Lyon in the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season | |
| Games played | 23 (started 13) |
| Goals | 3 |
| Chances created | 18 |
| Dribble success % | 53.7% |
| Touches in opposition box | 60 |
This sends a clear message to Moyes to keep Nuamah on his radar, as at just 21, this injury won’t be the making of the winger.
Having both Nuamah and Illiman Ndiaye on either wing could be a recipe for success, and one Everton should continue to explore.
