Everton’s first pre-season game saw the Toffees held on to a draw by Sligo Rovers in a six-goal thriller.
It was a strange evening for Sean Dyche‘s men who found themselves 3-1 down inside the second half.
However, Everton will return to Goodison Park unbeaten from their game in Ireland after Youssef Chermiti netted a second half brace to pull the Toffees level.
Everton fans did not see an awful lot of Chermiti last season under Dyche, but if he is to continue scoring like he did on Friday he could well force his way into the side.
And speaking after the game, he shared what he had to say to captain Seamus Coleman on his return to his former club.

What Youssef Chermiti said to Seamus Coleman after Sligo Rovers draw
The game marked Coleman’s return to the club where he spent three years of his career.
Coleman was able to rack up 61 appearances for Rovers before making the move to Everton back in 2009 for a fee of £60k.
The Irishman has been some servant at Goodison and now has 422 appearances to his name across all competitions.
And it seems that some of his teammates were pleased to be able to join in on the celebrations as Coleman visited his country of birth.

Having netted himself a second half brace, Chermiti still had time to compliment Coleman on his homeland after their visit to Sligo.
“It was a good test for us. It’s our first game, now we have to get better,” Chermiti told the Liverpool Echo.
“We’ve been training for two weeks but that was our first game. It was very good to play in front of our fans who have travelled from Liverpool to here. (On his first goal) Yeah, it was a bit of new skill there!”
“I was talking with Seamus (Coleman) and I was saying how nice his country is.”
Youssef Chermiti shares his target for 2024/25
Chermiti was only able to make one start in the Premier League last season with a further 17 appearances coming from the bench.
However, those appearances were only able to provide the 20-year-old with 196 minutes with a further two appearances coming across the FA Cup and Cabarao Cup.
But it is apparent the forward is looking to make an impression this summer as he targets more game time under Dyche.
“My aim for this season is to get more minutes and get more games,” added Chermiti.
If he is to continue pre-season in the way he has started it, Chermiti may not have any issues in gaining further minutes.
