Everton’s summer has taken a real blow on Friday morning with the news coming out of Goodison Park.

After months and months of speculation surrounding the 777 Group’s proposed takeover, Farhad Moshiri has now seen another opportunity fall short.

It was confirmed by the club that The Friedkin Group have pulled out of the running to potentially take over at Goodison Park.

This comes during the summer transfer window in which Everton have already been able to bring in two new faces.

Talks are ongoing to secure the signing of Jesper Lindstrom from Napoli with just personal terms to be agreed upon.

However, there is also the future of some of their current stars to consider as the latest takeover proposal has fallen through.

What Everton’s takeover status means for Jarrad Branthwaite’s future

Last month, the Toffees found themselves having to balance the books against PSR with the sale of players like Ben Godfrey.

Sean Dyche has not seen any new faces come in at centre-back this summer despite losing the Englishman to Atalanta.

However, there have been strong links to the possible departure of the promising Jarrad Branthwaite ahead of the remaining weeks in the window.

The likes of Manchester United have been suggested as a potential landing spot for Branthwaite this summer.

However, journalist Giulia Bould has now provided an update on whether or not the takeover update is going to have an impact on the 22-year-old.

Thankfully for Everton fans, it does not seem as if Friday’s update out of Goodison is going to affect the club’s stance over Branthwaite’s future.

And perhaps even more of a positive is the suggestion that the takeover fallthrough is not going to prevent Everton from making any further additions.

The big goal for Everton this summer will be to keep ahold of their promising young centre-back.

That has been helped by United’s approach to the potential transfer with Erik ten Hag’s side falling well short of Everton’s valuation of the defender.

United are only said to have lodged a £45m bid for Everton’s Branthwaite this summer.

Falling well short of what they would be willing to sell Branthwaite for over the coming weeks, Everton’s social media team have done a good job in providing fans with content on their defender.

And it is good to see the England international looking so happy back in training as the effort ramp up ahead of the new season.
