The new owners on Merseyside could see a number of new faces brought in at Everton over the coming transfer windows.

Although results have been much improved over the last two weeks, Sean Dyche’s side are still lingering around the bottom three.

Everton have gone into the weekend in 16th position in the Premier League table with work clearly needing to be done at Goodison.

The Friedkin Group are eyeing a big Everton transformation ahead of the summer with so many players set to be out of contract.

And there is potentially one player who rejected joining Everton last year that may now be thinking what could have been.

Hakim Ziyech wants to leave Galatasaray after rejecting Everton

Since signing over the summer, forward Iliman Ndiaye has really impressed at Everton which has proven to be an inspired move from the Toffees.

According to Foot Mercato, Hakim Ziyech rejected the opportunity to join Everton last year.

Instead, the Morrocan made the move to Turkey where he joined Galatasaray on an initial loan, which was made permanent over the summer.

However, things have turned sour for the 31-year-old who has now spoken publicly of his regret in joining them.

“For me, Galatasaray is a finished club. I don’t want to play here anymore. I’m leaving in January,” Ziyech has sensationally said.

“I just want them to leave me in peace no matter what. I regret having come here.”

Ziyech has started just three games for Galatasaray across all competitions with just 320 minutes to his name.

His time in the Premier League was not exactly a roaring success, but he must feel he would have been better off making the move to Goodison.

Everton avoided £33m disaster with Ziyech

Chelsea spent £33m on Ziyech when they signed him from Ajax and Everton could have been left with an expensive mistake had they signed him.

Instead, the Toffees have been able to sign players like Ndiaye who has hit the ground running on Merseyside.

Ndiaye has been impressed by the Everton fans, whilst Ziyech’s time in Turkey has quickly taken a turn for the worse as he has now completely alienated himself.

Given Everton’s position in the league, an attitude like that is the absolute last thing which the Toffees would need around their group.

An expensive mistake avoided.
