Much has been made of Sean Dyche’s sacking from Everton as The Friedkin Group will have key decisions to make but a former Everton player thinks they’ve already messed up.
It’s been quite the conundrum at Everton football club with people varying over their opinions on whether the former Toffees boss was deservedly sacked.
It was clear that Dyche was supported by The Friedkins but it has now become quite apparent it was the opposite.
Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines managed Everton to victory against Peterborough United in the FA Cup which has already been perceived as a strange decision to put the duo in charge, although brilliant for the fanbase in this crisis.
A former Everton player disagreed with The Friedkins decision and has raised serious question marks over their future of owning the Toffees.

Andros Townsend issues ‘red flag’ warning on The Friedkins at Everton
The Friedkins made the unusual decision of sacking Dyche hours before their FA Cup clash against Peterborough United.
Former Everton midfielder, Andros Townsend, spoke on the Football Daily podcast labelling The Friedkin’s decision as bad ownership.
“I think looking at the bigger picture it’s a major red flag for this ownership.
“You’ve got this new group and then you have a decision like this, whether it;’s right or wrong it’s announced three hours before kick-off.
“A man that saved you from relegation and this how you treat him.
“Major red flags from this new ownership group.”
Townsend believes David Moyes isn’t the right manager for Everton
Despite Dyche being the Everton manager who released Townsend, it wasn’t to say the 33-year-old doesn’t have respect for his former boss.
Townsend suffered a 13-month injury which ultimately kept him out of Dyche’s plans but he suggested in the podcast (14:19) that he still has a ‘soft spot’ for the club.
Everton could appoint David Moyes by the weekend, but Townsend believes this wouldn’t be the right appointment for where the club are at the moment.
Speaking further on the situation (14:20) Townsend said: “I would love for them to be in that new stadium next season, with a fresh start with a young manager who wants to play progressive football.
“To have a fresh start would be amazing and someone like David Moyes isn’t that sort of manager.
“He’ll be amazing for six months, he will keep them up but I feel next season I’d love to see a young manager come in and put his mark on this side.”
Everton will need to kick on at some point and it could be an area of concern for the fanbase after The Friedkins’ treatment of Dyche.
