Summer signing Adam Aznou made his Everton debut against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
When Everton signed Adam Aznou from European giants Bayern Munich, there were great expectations among fans.
Aznou was an exciting young player labelled with ‘incredible potential’ after a successful loan spell in LaLiga with Real Valladolid.
Who was your most underwhelming player for Everton? 🫣
Surely there's only one to take the crown here…
But, for whatever reason, David Moyes didn’t hand him a single minute in the first team until the Sunderland game yesterday.
Toffees fans had a lot to say about his performance on TalkingPoints.

Everton fans insist Adam Aznou has to start from now on
Moyes was really pleased with Aznou’s display against Sunderland, but did admit that he still has areas of his game that need improving.
On TalkingPoints, Everton fans were full of praise for the 19-year-old and are urging Moyes to start him moving forward.
“He showed more in 4 minutes that Mykolenko has in years. Looked bright, lively, skilful and most importantly willing. HAS to start,” One fan said.
Another added: “Moyes needs to give Aznou more minutes, it’s always been clear what a talent he is!”
“This lad showed he wanted to win. More than most of the team,” one commented.
Aznou surely has to be handed more minutes after THAT display…😫
He showed more in his cameo than Mykolenko has all season
This fan stated: “I thought Adam Aznou looked a million dollars, I would play him on the wing in place of Grealish, he looked very handy on the ball.”
“He looked really lively… makes it all the more bizarre that he hasn’t been given any chances,” one wrote.
Adam Aznou stats vs Sunderland
Aznou, who is a left-back by trade, came on as a winger and looked a real threat going forward, winning the penalty.
As evinced by his Sofascore statistics, the former Barcelona youngster got stuck in at both ends of the pitch and surely made a real statement to Moyes.
- 34 minutes
- 24 touches
- 5/7 duels won
- 86% pass completion
- 2 recoveries
- 1 penalty won
Vitaliy Mykolenko must be a little concerned as his left-back spot may start to become under threat as Aznou grows and develops.
Moyes indicated that he just wants him to develop a bit more physically before he gives the Moroccan his chance in the Premier League.
