Everton have completed their second signing of the summer transfer window.

Carlos Alcaraz arrived on a permanent deal earlier in the window and now Thierno Barry has joined Everton.

Barry has completed a £27m transfer from La Liga outfit Villarreal and is expected to be the main man up front.

Beto will likely drop to the bench, but it’s understood David Moyes is still in the market for another forward.

With that said, it’s just come to light that Everton are ‘pressing’ ahead to land a Championship number nine.

Everton ‘pressing’ ahead to sign Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic

Considering Armando Broja and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have left Finch Farm, it’s no surprise Moyes still wants another striker through the door,

Millwall’s Mihailo Ivanovic is on Moyes’ radar after his impressive debut season in the Championship, netting 13 goals.

The 20-year-old was labelled one of the ‘top 10 talents in Europe’ by his manager Alex Neil, such is why Newcastle United are also circling.

Ivanovic recently changed agents, which is usually a telling sign a player is open to leaving, and now Parma Today are reporting that Everton are ‘pressing’ ahead to land his signature.

Italian club Parma have made the 2004-born their top target, however, they’re now aware of stiff interest from the Toffees.

No official offer has been made just yet, but perhaps it will be launched ahead of the pre-season camp in the US at the end of the month.

Moyes will ideally want many of his new signings to be part of that trip.

Ivanovic’s impressive underlying data

Ivanovic’s underlying data is really impressive and it aligns with the type of striker Moyes likes.

According to FBref, the 6ft 3 frontman ranks in the top 12 per cent in Europe for aerial duels won per 90, which is pretty remarkable.

Further, Ivanovic sits in the top four per cent for clearances, interestingly, evincing his willingness to get back and conduct his defensive duties on set-plays.

Indeed, he is unlikely to start on a regular basis on Merseyside, but it’ll suit him to learn behind Barry and come on as an impact substitute.

Millwall have already rejected an £8.6m bid from Parma, so the Toffees will likely have to fork out north of £10m to sign him.
