Everton’s Tyler Dibling has been told exactly what he needs to show this summer by former defender Alan Stubbs.

It was certainly not the first season on Merseyside that Dibling would have been expecting after his big-money move last summer.

David Moyes was keen to sign Dibling 12 months ago, but that desire did not translate into opportunities during Everton’s 2025/26 campaign.

How can Tyler Dibling actually turn things around at Everton? 🤷‍♂️

It's going to need some turnaround from the youngster 😫

Alan Stubbs hands Tyler Dibling invaluable Everton advice

Moyes has admitted Dibling needs to impress him in pre-season after failing to win the 63-year-old over during the 2025/26 term.

Since the end of January, Dibling made just one cameo appearance for the Blues, which earned him a minute on the pitch.

Speaking on A View From The Bullens, Stubbs has shared just how important it is for Dibling to make a name for himself this summer.

Which Everton player are you expecting to have the best World Cup? 🏆

“I don’t think Tyler Dibling wasn’t a David Moyes signing. He just hasn’t hit the ground running as much as we would have liked, which is why this season is huge for him,” said Stubbs.

“It’s a really big season, and I really hope Tyler grasps that as well. He’s got to. I hope he does, because I think he will have a fan base that will be right behind him if he does.

“But he’s got to show it. I think maybe some of the things that were aimed at him last season were indicating that he wasn’t showing it.”

Moyes said Dibling needs to improve having failed to rely on the winger ever since he made the £40m move from Southampton last summer.

The 2025/26 campaign was ultimately a wasted season for Dibling on the basis that he only played 350 minutes of Premier League football.

If the 20-year-old is unable to impress Moyes during pre-season then what lies ahead for him remains to be seen.

Leon Osman hopes Dibling just needed time to settle, but there can be no excuses made for the winger going forward given the huge financial outlay Everton invested into him.
