Everton have just a few days remaining to get any transfer business done – and one exciting link emerged on Wednesday night.
Everton have had a quiet month and that has disappointed a lot of fans, who feel the club should be going on the offensive.
The Toffees are in a great position right now with European football a genuine possibility.
What should be Everton’s top priority before the deadline on Monday? 😬
The clock is ticking… ⏰
The Friedkin Group are being urged by supporters to splash the cash and land a couple of new players for David Moyes to try and kick on.
But it seems there is a conservative approach from Everton, who are said to see more value in the summer window.
That said though, last night Everton were linked with Jhon Duran – who is a player Amadou Onana really rates.
What Amadou Onana said about Everton target Jhon Duran

Duran currently plays for Fenerbahce, on loan from Saudi club Al-Nassr.
He joined Al-Nassr from Aston Villa last year in a move that really raised eyebrows. Because Duran had been scoring goals for Villa despite limited game time.
But it looks like Duran may be heading back to England, with a report from Turkey suggesting Everton are keen. Supposedly, there is also competition in the form of Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and West Ham United.
Everton want Jhon Duran… would he be an upgrade on Thierno Barry? 👀
Duran has obviously played in England before and at Villa, Amadou Onana – who had a stint at Everton of course – really sang his praises.
He said in a Sky Sports interview on 17/08/2024 (via Aston Villa News): “I think Jhon’s going to be a crucial player for us this season. He is a very talented young man. Big, fast, physical.
“I think he’s definitely committed to his task here and he’s ready to help the team anytime. We are delighted to have him.”
Everton remain linked with another Fenerbahce striker in Youssef En-Nesyri, so it could well be that we read a lot about the Turkish club in the coming days.
Duran would be a serious coup by Everton
It is worth waiting to see if any UK publications pick this story up, but it’s difficult not to get excited.
Duran may have headed to Saudi only last year, but many people felt this was a really strange move for him to make given his quality and age.
Ultimately the finances involved were too big, so he was never going to stay put.

If Everton can sign Duran in the coming days, it could be an absolute game-changer for the club’s European prospects.
Yes, Thierno Barry has started to find his feet at last. But he remains a work in progress.
Duran has previous Premier League experience, and would be a big upgrade on Beto and provide a strong push for Barry.
