Arsenal make Gabriel Jesus stance clear amid interest from Everton

Everton are keen to sign Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal this summer.

David Moyes wants improvements to be made to his frontline after Thierno Barry and Beto netted eight and nine goals respectively in the Premier League last season – decent tallies, although both struggled for consistency and relied heavily on purple patches.

It was Sportsboom who initially claimed that Everton want Jesus – and the Daily Mail have now provided an interesting update.

Arsenal only want £20m for Gabriel Jesus

It is said that the Gunners are open to selling the Brazil international this summer for just £20m.

That would represent a significant loss on the £45m Arsenal spent to sign Jesus from Manchester City in July 2022 – although with only 12 months remaining on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, the UEFA Champions League finalists seem prepared to take the loss rather than lose the South American for nothing in 2027.

The Brazilian is still only 29 despite the fact it feels like he’s been in the Premier League for ages now, and considering Moyes likes his experienced options such as Idrissa Gueye and James Tarkowski, that £20m price tag may come across as quite appealing to the Glaswegian.

There is no denying that Jesus – who Carlo Ancelotti likes – is talented enough to be worth £20m, but his injury record is the primary factor Everton need to be wary of.

The former Palmeiras attacker missed the start of last season due to a cruciate ligament tear suffered in the 2024/25 campaign, and had already been struggling with injuries before that serious incident occurred.

Jesus is also believed to earn £265,000-a-week at Arsenal, so it would be a nightmare if Everton paid £20m and matched that enormous salary, only for the forward to be in the treatment room more often than not.

If the Arsenal No.9 can prove his fitness to Moyes – however – then a £20m deal could well prove to be a bargain.
