Aston Villa look set to be a thorn in the side of Everton this summer.

Unai Emery already appears to have beaten David Moyes to a target as Harry Wilson has allegedly agreed to join Aston Villa when his contract with Fulham expires at the end of the season.

Now, Turkish journalist Suleyman Rodop claims the Villans are trying to beat Everton to another transfer target in Gabriel Sara – with a ‘serious’ bid on the table.

Aston Villa bid for Gabriel Sara

As detailed by Rodop on Haber Sarikirmizi, Aston Villa are pushing to sign the Brazil international, and have already made Galatasaray a ‘serious’ offer.

It comes after Ali Naci Kucuk claimed that Everton want Sara this summer – but the deal now looks incredibly unlikely.

Aston Villa can offer the South American – who Galatasaray paid £15.3m to sign from Norwich City back in August 2025 – the chance to play UEFA Champions League football should he make a move to the Midlands.

In stark contrast, Everton are set to have no European football to offer transfer targets whatsoever, barring several results going their way on the final day – a spot in the UEFA Conference League is still possible if the Toffees finish eighth.

Sara wants UEFA Champions League football and recently spoke about his ambitions to win the prestigious competition, telling Globo Esporte: “I’m happy, not satisfied. I still feel I have a lot of fuel left in the tank and a lot of room to grow. I dream of playing in the Champions League, but also of winning the Champions League.”

Where will Everton be in the table by 6pm on Sunday afternoon? 🥲

Aston Villa can give the Brazilian that platform, so unless Everton blow the Villans out of the water with a substantial bid, we highly doubt the Galatasaray No.8 will be heading to the Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer.
