Beto is still having a tough time at Everton.
The Guinea-Bissau international looked to be finding some form after a predatory strike in the 3-2 win at Newcastle and a solid display in the 2-0 victory over Burnley.
However, fans were left unhappy with how Beto performed in the 2-0 defeat at Arsenal last time out, feeling Thierno Barry and the Everton No.9 are simply not at the level required if David Moyes wants to take the Toffees to another level.
Now, the 28-year-old has a new problem as rumours suggest Everton have decided to sell his close friend Charly Alcaraz.
Will TFG have to move away from Moyes to achieve their recruitment model? 😬
Everton make Charly Alcaraz sale decision which may upset Beto
A story from South American news outlet Netfla has now claimed that Everton are ready to sell Alcaraz – after Moyes handed the Argentine just six starts in the Premier League this season due to a combination of injuries and competition for places.
Some Everton fans may not be aware that Beto and Alcaraz are close friends – with the South American previously naming the striker as his best pal at the club.
The Everton No.24 said back in December: “Beto. I always stay with Beto. I speak Spanish or Portuguese with him. Always play together and I think it’s Beto. Last season it was Jack Harrison, but now it’s Beto.”
With Beto already struggling for form, the last thing he would have wanted to hear is that Everton are planning to let a close mate depart in Alcaraz.
The Everton striker may have even felt his close pal could eventually help him rediscover some form, having previously spoken about how well they understand each other on the pitch.
Beto said in May 2025: “It comes naturally because he has one style of playing that matches with mine.
“He likes to turn and drive with the ball and make the final pass. It’s something I like, when a player gets the ball and drives. It gives me time to do my movements.”
Wonder how much we’d be able to sell him for…😬
So, the fact Everton are now allegedly ready to move Alcaraz on will most certainly not be music to the ears of Beto.
