Dele Alli has been training with Everton for a good while now, and it looks as if his progress has caught the attention of a Champions League club.
Everton have been patient with Dele Alli amid all his ongoing personal issues and injuries that have kept him out of the game for a long while now.
Just as it was looking promising, Alli suffered an injury recently which Sean Dyche described as a minor setback.
Interestingly, it has been claimed that Everton has a contract waiting for Alli to sign; it’s just very much dependent on him proving his fitness behind the scenes.
Of course, it’s a risk from the Toffees but if the wages aren’t too high then it’s a gamble worth taking.
However, there is a new suitor in the mix as a Champions League club are registering an interest.

Champions League club join the race to sign Dele Alli
Luckily, Everton have sorted out an agreement with Tottenham that will cost the Toffees nothing extra if they decide to sign him as planned.
But, it’s interest from another club that Everton have to be worried about.
According to the Daily Mail, Champions League club Lille are interested in Dele Alli.
Of course, the draw of playing Champions League football again would appeal to Alli, but Everton have stuck by him and shown patience, so it would be unfair to turn his back on the Toffees at this point.
There’s no doubting he was one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League at one point, it just depends if he can rediscover some of that form and keep away from any injuries.
Where does Dele Alli fit in at Everton?
Well, Sean Dyche has already looked at playing Dwight McNeil out of position behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin recently, with it resulting in mixed performances.
McNeil grabbed a brace against Crystal Palace but then couldn’t really influence the game against Newcastle United.
Iliman Ndiaye is another player who is suited behind the striker, but Sean Dyche has insisted that he’s impressed with what he’s seen from the summer signing out wide.
Dele Alli would provide much-needed cover in the number 10 role and has the creativity and goals to bring a lot of new things to this Everton side, it just depends on how quickly he can adjust.
