Everton are yet to open their account in this summer’s transfer market.
A considerable amount of work is needed on Merseyside to really push Everton on following another underwhelming Premier League campaign.
Everton are searching for a new right-back, with a list of options already building back at Finch Farm.
However, their inability to strike early in the market has now left the Blues vulnerable to increased competition for some of their targets.
After watching him for England vs Croatia, I’m convinced he’d be the perfect right-back signing this summer! 🔥
Unlike Everton, Chelsea have already struck a deal to sign their right-back of choice, which is set to potentially increase Inter’s interest in two targets shared with the Toffees.

Everton’s dithering has seen Chelsea inflict transfer problem
Although not a player on Everton’s radar, Fabrizio Romano’s update on Marco Palestra is of note to those on Merseyside.
Chelsea have beaten Inter to an agreement for the Italian right-back, which could well have a knock-on effect for the Blues.
Everton have an interest in Guela Doue, who is also believed to be on Inter’s radar this summer.
As a result of missing out on Palestra, this could now see competition from the Serie A champions increase for the Everton target.
What would you be doing with Nathan Patterson this summer if you were Angus Kinnear? 👋
Surely the writing is on the wall now?
That is not the only problem Inter may cause Everton this summer, though.
As an alternative to Doue, both Inter and Everton hold an interest in Brooke Norton-Cuffy of Genoa.
There is a strong expectation that Doue will be out of Everton’s price range following his strong end to the 2025/26 campaign.
Having competed for Palestra, it would indicate that Inter could potentially make their move in the market for Doue.
However, Norton-Cuffy is a player who could prove very appealing to Cristian Chivu at the San Siro given his experience in the Italian top flight.
Everton have dithered so far in this summer’s transfer market.
It must be stressed that there is clearly a long way still to go, but fans would have liked to see some new faces land in the early stages of the window.
Everton have been unable to secure an agreement for Hayden Hackney following their recent talks with Middlesbrough.
As a result, supporters are naturally going to be concerned that competition from a club of Inter’s stature could now be brewing for some of their right-back targets.
It is no secret that Everton are desperate to sign a new right-back this summer, but the Toffees have not acted in that manner so far in the market.
