Chris Sutton in shock at what he’s just found out about Everton and Sean Dyche

Everton are currently in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League, after another shocking performance against Bournemouth.

Everton were beaten 1-0 by the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium, with the visitors not having a single shot on target all game.

There was praise for Everton recently after holding the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City to draws.

But it’s now back-to-back defeats against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth, and fans are extremely worried.

The lack of an attacking threat is the big topic of conversation once again, with Sean Dyche seemingly unable to find a balance. The manager only seems capable of setting his side up to be well-organised – and that isn’t even something that happens every time.

It’s unsustainable, and pundit Chris Sutton has dropped a verdict that most Evertonians will be in agreement with.

The latest result means Everton are still just two points above the relegation zone.

But Ipswich Town play today against Fulham and then Wolves take on Nottingham Forest on Monday. Wins for both teams will see Everton drop into the relegation zone.

These are very concerning times, and while The Friedkin Group have backed Sean Dyche, it may well be that fan fury gets the new owners thinking about what is really best for this club.

Pundit Chris Sutton had his say on the situation after yesterday’s game, which even saw Bournemouth fans mock Everton’s way of playing under Dyche, and his frustrations will be echoed by Toffees fans everywhere.

Upon learning Everton have scored just 15 Premier League goals in 19 games, he said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “Unbelievable… 15 goals this season? You’ve got to say, that’s shambolic and defensively, every week they’re stressed.

“They’ve got to start scoring goals, and you can’t get away from the fact that’s something Sean Dyche needs to address.”

Everton are heading for relegation if Sean Dyche remains

It is difficult to see how Everton can stay in the Premier League if Dyche remains the manager.

15 Premier League goals in 19 games is woeful, especially considering four of those came in one match against Wolves, who are statistically the worst defensive outfit in the division. And, almost laughably, two of those four goals were own goals by Craig Dawson.

Worryingly for Everton, teams like Wolves and Ipswich – as poor as they have been defensively – actually have something about them in the final third.

They’ll give themselves chances in games as they carry a decent attacking threat, which is something Everton simply do not have.

TFG are thought to be backing Dyche. But the new owners really could be playing with fire, with other Premier League rivals starting to pick up points.
