Everton are back in Premier League action on Monday with Leeds United the opponents at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Following the win over Aston Villa last weekend, fans are buoyant heading into the contest with Leeds.

A David Moyes tactical masterclass saw Everton move up to 10th in the Premier League table, and the club are now only four points off fourth place.

Leeds have been much improved lately after Daniel Farke changed the system, and they are well clear of the relegation zone at the moment, so this will be a tricky game – especially since Everton have stumbled at home lately.

Backing up the win against Aston Villa with another against Leeds would be huge for Everton – and pundit Chris Sutton has now shared his thoughts and prediction.

Everton will be without Jack Grealish against Leeds, after the winger sustained an injury in recent days.

Grealish has suffered a suspected stress fracture, and could reportedly be out for around three months.

No doubt Moyes will be asked about him in his press conference on Friday, but the manager can at last welcome back Iliman Ndiaye.

Despite that amazing win and the confidence it would have brought, Chris Sutton is predicting a 1-1 draw – and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score.

He said (via BBC Sport): “I’m definitely adding Everton to my list of teams who are impossible to predict. They’ve had some brilliant results this season, and some really disappointing ones too.

“Leeds beat Everton 1-0 at Elland Road with a late penalty at the start of the season, and this game will be just as tight.

“I was going to go for an Everton win by the same scoreline but then I thought about Dominic Calvert-Lewin coming back to his old club. He is bound to score, isn’t he?”

This will be the first time Calvert-Lewin has faced Everton since leaving, after he didn’t feature in the reverse fixture having only just joined Leeds.

Everton must nullify Dominic Calvert-Lewin

A lot of eyes will be on Calvert-Lewin as he faces Everton for the first time since leaving – and may will no doubt have the same prediction as Sutton that he will score.

And he’ll be absolutely determined to do that.

So it’ll be a big game for James Tarkowski and Jake O’Brien, who look set to start together again after their fantastic performances against Villa.

What kind of reception does Calvert-Lewin deserve on his Everton return? 🫣

The positive is that both of them spent a lot of time marking Calvert-Lewin in training, and will both be well up on how he plays and specific things he does.

Hopefully, it will be a quiet night at the Hill Dickinson for the former Toffees number nine.
