Everton are going to be facing the in-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the Hill Dickinson Stadium very soon.
It has only been a matter of months since Calvert-Lewin departed Merseyside for Leeds United, but it is a move that’s worked for the striker.
Ironically, David Moyes still finds himself needing an upgrade at striker despite bringing in Thierno Barry over the summer to replace Calvert-Lewin.
It is even claimed that Moyes is ‘fixated’ on signing a new striker this month.
Whether Calvert-Lewin could have replicated his current form at Everton is a big question given his poor form towards the end of his time on Merseyside.
The 28-year-old will certainly be looking to find the back of the net as he has now broken his silence ahead of his first return to Everton.

What Dominic Calvert-Lewin has said about his Everton return
There is no hiding from it, Calvert-Lewin has been in exceptional form for Leeds of late with nine goals in his last nine Premier League games.
It is a stark contrast to what Everton’s current strikers are producing for Moyes.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Englishman has now shared his excitement in returning to his former club for the very first time.
Was it a mistake to let Dominic Calvert-Lewin go? 🤔
The former Everton striker is on fire at Leeds! 🔥
“Yeah, obviously looking forward to it,” he said.
“It’ll be interesting going up against them, having played for them for so long, you know, seeing familiar faces, old faces, and also the new stadium, which I was a part of for a long time and seeing that get built and then to go and play there.“
“It’s something I’m definitely looking forward to. But for me, I’m not going to say the cliche one game at a time because generally I look two, three games in front, two, three games in front. You know, you look to see who you’ve got coming up in in the near in the short term because then, you know, it compounds.
“So, no need to look too far ahead. I don’t look too far, but definitely, yeah, I’m looking forward to it.”
Jamie Carragher thinks Everton made a mistake letting Calvert-Lewin leave at the end of last season.
But the reality is the striker wanted to try something new following a number of years on Merseyside.
Everton reception for Calvert-Lewin will be interesting
Earlier in the season, Sean Dyche received a welcome reception from the Everton fans following his departure last year.
Calvert-Lewin is just another familiar face who will be making his first appearance at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
What kind of reception does Calvert-Lewin deserve on his Everton return? 🫣
It may have slightly irked some fans that Calvert-Lewin was so vocal in wanting to leave Everton for a new challenge.
Instead, he landed with the promoted Leeds side.
Having spoken about this potential move to join a powerhouse side, Calvert-Lewin instead joined a club currently seven points behind a depleted Everton.
