Everton are keeping a close eye on any bargains to emerge from relegated clubs.
Several Wolves players have already been linked with moves to the Hill Dickinson Stadium as Everton monitor Mateus Mane and Hugo Bueno.
West Ham are on the verge of joining Wolves in the Championship, and the Daily Mail say David Moyes is keen on reuniting with Jarrod Bowen at Everton should the Hammers go down.
Relegation will be confirmed for the east Londoners if Tottenham avoid defeat at Chelsea on Tuesday night.
However, that deal now looks a lot tougher to complete, after the Guardian revealed Manchester United are seriously considering a move for Bowen.
What would you say to Angus Kinnear after THAT loss to Sunderland? 😤
Something has to change… 😭
Manchester United attracted by Jarrod Bowen’s versatility
The Guardian now write that Manchester United – along with Chelsea and Liverpool – have joined the race to sign the England international.
West Ham will need to raise over £100m through player sales if they do go down as expected, and Bowen – contracted until July 2030 – could make up a large chunk of that sum given his pedigree.
The former Hereford star has netted 84 goals and provided 62 assists in 279 appearances for West Ham since his £20m move from Hull City in January 2020, helping the Hammers win the 2023 UEFA Conference League and also reach the last four of the UEFA Europa League in 2022.
The Guardian say Manchester United are eager to add more depth to their attack after qualifying for the UEFA Champions League and view Bowen’s versatility as a huge point of attraction.
The West Ham No.20 mainly cuts inside from the right flank onto his stronger left foot, but can also play on the left flank and as a central striker.
Over the years, the 29-year-old has also played just behind the striker in an attacking midfield role.
Would you rather Everton sign Summerville or Bowen this summer? 👀
Bowen and Moyes enjoy a strong relationship from their time together at West Ham, but talk of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool joining Everton in the battle for his signature does not bode well for the Toffees by any means.
