The Friedkin Group approved considerable summer spending at Everton last year, but the wait goes on for a January addition.
It is a wait that will be leaving those on Merseyside more and more anxious as improvements are required for the second half of the season.
Everton have been hit with injuries, suspensions and international duty which has left David Moyes’ options extremely stretched.
That has been translated into results as the Blues have only recorded one victory in around five weeks of Premier League games.
Moyes has said the Friedkins are backing Everton this month in the market, but the Toffees have not yet seen any new faces come through the doors.
Considering the big aspirations on Merseyside, the latest development involving Dan Friedkin may not go down too well at Everton.

Dan Friedkin makes Roma decision amid Everton struggles
Last week, it was claimed that Friedkin had jetted in to Rome for transfer talks with Roma after the transfer window opened for business.
Although Everton are yet to make any moves in the window, it would appear that Friedkin’s priority remains in Rome.
Speaking to the media at the weekend, Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini has shared an update on the plan with Friedkin.
Forget your January hopes, what do you actually expect from Everton in the market? 🤔
“The ownership is here, and that’s a great sign, as is the fact that he’s staying here for a few weeks,” said the Roma boss.
“This way, they can take care of the team directly.”
Roma are already spending in the January transfer window as they sit just four points off the top of the Italian top flight.
Fans of Everton will be hoping to see a similar ambition shown at their club as there is the chance for something special to unfold in the remaining months of the term.
Everton need to step up in January transfer window
The Toffees knew exactly what positions would need addressing in the January transfer market given the injuries and lack of quality on display.
Moyes has admitted he needs more at full-back, with neither Vitaliy Mykolenko nor Jake O’Brien offering the attacking output needed.
Who would be your dream Everton signing this month? 👀
Despite knowing this since returning to the club 12 months ago, Moyes has not seen any movement in the window to address the positions.
It may be ambitious, but Moyes wants Everton to push for European qualification this season.
However, it has to be questioned whether enough is being put in place to improve Moyes’ squad this month.
