Over one year on since taking over on Merseyside and Dan Friedkin is still yet to make an appearance at Everton.

The American is certainly working in the shadows as The Friedkin Group have already marked their first anniversary at the club.

David Moyes will be demanding January additions this month on the back of a disastrous opening game in the New Year.

Everton News columnist Alan Myers believes a striker is Everton’s priority as the Blues have struggled so much in front of goal this season.

The days are already ticking by in the market as the first week is almost complete.

With Moyes hoping for the backing of the owners, Dan Friedkin has now boarded his jet in a development away from Everton.

Dan Friedkin jets off to offer reassurance away from Everton

During his press conference last week, Moyes admitted the club will back him in January, but the targets have to be the right players.

Calls have been made between those at Finch Farm and the American owner, but he remains removed from any presence on Merseyside.

According to Il Messaggero, this is not the case in Rome as Dan and Ryan Friedkin have now jetted into the Italian capital to show their support.

It is claimed that the Friedkins want to show Gian Piero Gasperini that he has their backing in the window as they also look for a new striker.

The Friedkins want to sign Joshua Zirkzee for Roma and his presence in the capital is believed to be an indication of that.

Despite some positive spells, Everton have now slipped down to 12th spot in the Premier League table having been hit with some real injury blows.

Moyes shared his concerns amid the January window at the weekend as his side lacked a lot against Brentford.

With the opportunity to do something special this season, Friedkin’s presence on Merseyside would be a big statement of his ambition to push the club this month.

Dan Friedkin should show his face on Merseyside

It remains a mystery why Dan Friedkin is still yet to make an appearance at an Everton game 12 months on from the takeover.

Even Farhad Moshiri has been spotted at Everton games in recent months despite no longer being the owner.

There is clearly a big involvement for the 60-year-old in Italy, with Friedkin announcing a new stadium for Roma.

Having won just one of their last five Premier League games, Everton could benefit from having their owner make his first appearance at the club this month.

More than anything, he needs to make sure the club are doing all they can to get the right players on board in the market.
