Daniel Farke drops verdict on Everton’s seven new signings ahead of Leeds United clash

Everton have made some good additions this transfer window, as Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has given his thoughts.

After a summer of ups and downs for Everton, so far, David Moyes seems to be ticking the boxes in his squad.

The arrivals made at the Hill Dickinson Stadium have come with mixed opinions, but the strategy is clear from The Friedkin Group.

Moyes wants the correct players and doesn’t want to spend willy-nilly on anybody, as the Scotsman doesn’t want to repeat past failures after seven new additions this window.

The Toffees’ opening game at Elland Road will be very telling if this is the case, as Farke has admitted something about Moyes’ new recruits.

Daniel Farke thinks Everton’s new signings are ‘ambitious’

It’s going to be a close encounter on Monday night as the Blues are hoping to make a strong start.

Looking at Moyes’ side’s opening fixtures, it’s not an easy beginning to the Premier League campaign, so every point counts.

Thankfully, Moyes has a brilliant win rate against Leeds, which could work in his favour, and Farke isn’t expecting an easy game, especially with Everton’s transfers this summer.

Speaking on the “difficult test” against the Toffees, Farke said in his pre-match press conference: “They are a really good side and we are respectful of that. We know how difficult it will be to create chances and open them up. We know that from last season. They have also made some ambitious signings this summer.”

The arrivals of Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall do show that ambition, but the Whites have been up to their own tricks in the transfer market, and both clubs’ spending this summer makes for interesting reading.

Both teams seem to be at the same point in terms of a rebuild this year, as The Friedkins are hoping their project is a success.

Meanwhile, at Leeds, their owners, the 49ers, have made it clear they are willing to spend big, and it seems the two owners have delivered in that aspect.

As you can see, both hierarchies are working with a similar budget, but with new additions needed on each side, there could be a chance that the £100 million barrier gets broken.

In the Toffees’ case, there is certainly the need for more additions, and although Farke is impressed with the deals made on the Blue side of Merseyside, Everton are stepping up their transfer plans even more.
