Everton still have plenty of areas to cover as the window progresses, but one key target looks to be heading to Nottingham Forest.
The Friedkin Group have put in the work with signings such as Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
It shows the clear ambition of the owners who are looking to get Everton back on track under David Moyes.
Despite landing some promising names, after Moyes wanted nine players this window, three more could still sign.
One name who looked destined for the new project at the Hill Dickinson Stadium looks likely to be joining the Premier League, but instead under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Nottingham Forest agree ‘personal terms’ with Everton target Douglas Luiz
Former Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz has been mooted with a return to England after his £42 million Juventus move hasn’t worked out.
Everton have wanted Luiz all summer, but Fabrizio Romano has broken the unfortunate news that the Brazilian has agreed terms with Forest and looks destined for the City Ground.
Moyes’ pursuit of the midfielder seems to have lost credibility as Luiz’s interest died down, and now, with his return to the English top flight ‘accelerating’, the Toffees will have to look elsewhere after missing out on his £35 million price tag.
With another midfielder probably needed due to Harrison Armstrong departing on loan, the Everton boss might have to refrain from making another decision just to be on the safe side.
David Moyes might have to keep Tim Iroegbunam after missing out on Douglas Luiz
After missing out on Luiz, it’s a blow to Everton’s midfield plans as his signing would have topped off a successful window.
But once again, the Blues will have to look around the market, and they might also be reluctant to loan other players.
Armstrong being loaned out is the right move, but The Star are reporting that Sheffield United are looking to sign Everton’s Tim Iroegbunam on loan.
Iroegbunam could find the move ‘appealing’ as he searches for more game time, but with Moyes’ limited options in midfield, he may have to end up keeping the 22-year-old this summer.
Adding to this, it’s also claimed by the outlet that Luiz’s deal could have played a big role in the Toffees star’s future.
Keeping the midfielder could be used to the Scotsman’s advantage, as Iroegbunam is one of the best interceptors, meaning there is the chance to save money on a midfielder and for the Toffees to stick to their guns.
