David Moyes is hoping for a much welcome financial boost through finishing as high as possible this weekend.

The final day of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign will not provide Everton with the opportunity to qualify for Europe.

Everton could finish as high as ninth, but as low as 14th by 6pm on Sunday afternoon.

With each Premier League spot believed to be worth around £2.6m, Moyes is now targeting a multi-million pound boost to Everton’s purse by finishing on a high.

David Moyes could land Everton £18m windfall

Everton News’ finance expert Adam Williams believes Everton are playing for £18m in prize money on Sunday.

Results elsewhere will have to go in Everton’s favour, but Moyes is hoping to boost the transfer kitty ever so slightly.

“I would love to keep West Ham in the league, but it’s more important that I get Everton that top-half finish,” Moyes told the media on Friday.

“We need to try and get a few more million pounds because of our league position, which is so important as well.”

It is rare to hear managers speak about the finances involved in the Premier League, but it is all Everton have to play for on the final day.

A number of Everton supporters have grown frustrated with Moyes and have shared their thoughts over on TalkingPoints.

The weeks since the international break have been hugely underwhelming on Merseyside, with hopes of a European finish quashed through poor performances.

Everton have not won since March, which will not provide fans with much optimism going into the game against the relegation-battling Tottenham Hotspur.

Although Moyes admitted he was keen to help his former side, it is clear that he is aware of just how important finishing the season on a high is for the Everton supporters.
