Everton have been hit by even more injury blows ahead of their game against Nottingham Forest.

As if things could not get any worse for Everton, the injury blows just keep on racking up as Carlos Alcaraz and Michael Keane are added to the list.

Moyes will be thankful the January transfer window is just a matter of hours away from opening with his injury list growing.

After suffering a hamstring issue, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall remains absent for Everton heading into the New Year.

And now two more players have been added to Moyes’ list with Alcaraz and Keane both shock omissions from the side to face Forest.

Ahead of the game, Moyes broke his silence about the two who missed the game at the City Ground.

Carlos Alcaraz and Michael Keane injury news from Everton

Just a matter of weeks ago, Keane missed the Bournemouth game through injury, but the centre-back returned the following game.

Both absences on Tuesday night are a big shock, but Alcaraz perhaps even more so.

Speaking to the Everton media team before kick off, Moyes issued a statement about the absent duo.

What on earth is going on with Everton’s injuries this season? 😡

This is getting beyond a joke now!

“I’m not going to tell you what the injuries are, but obviously they’re both missing the game, so we’re disappointed because it adds to quite a big number at the moment [of players we have out],” said Moyes.

Add into the mix the fact that Everton remain without Jarrad Branthwaite and the pair representing Senegal at AFCON, it leaves the Blues extremely limited.

Keane’s absence does not effect the centre-back options, with Jake O’Brien now playing in his natural positon.

However, it certainly hinders the right-back spot as Nathan Patterson comes in for his first start of the season.

David Moyes issues Jack Grealish injury update

Jack Grealish missed Everton’s game against Burnley through illness over the weekend, but he returns to the side for Tuesday’s game.

Clearly, the 30-year-old has been rushed back, which is never a good sign, as Moyes issued an update on the winger.

How many signings do you want to see made in January? 💰

A striker, a midfielder and a right-back… are we missing anything here?

“We don’t have a lot to make changes and we’ve only got Jack Grealish back on the bench,” said the Everton boss.

“He shouldn’t be, he’s still ill, but if we need him for a small period then we might need to use him, but if I had my way he wouldn’t be on the bench at all.”

Grealish also suffered his own hamstring issue earlier in the month against Chelsea as Everton’s issues are laid bare for all to see.

The January transfer window simply is going to have to be utilised by the Friedkins.
