A big summer is required once again at Everton after the Blues saw their 2025/26 ambitions fade away in the final months of the term.
The Friedkin Group are ready to back Everton in the market, but the Toffees will have to be smart when it comes to how they spend their money.
Everton’s fixtures for 2026/27 have been released! What immediately caught your eye about them? 🤩
It has been suggested that Everton are keen to sign Stones following his Manchester City exit, with Moyes sharing his thoughts on the defender amid the speculation.

What David Moyes said about Everton target John Stones
Stones did not particularly impress for England in the Three Lions’ opening game of this summer’s World Cup on Wednesday evening.
Despite struggling with injuries during the 2025/26 campaign, Stones was given the nod from Tuchel, which Moyes admitted may have shocked some supporters.
|I thought his [Tuchel’s] team selection was really good,” Moyes told TalkSPORT.
“It was a bit surprising, maybe, to some people that John Stones started—since he hasn’t played an awful lot – but he is an exceptional player and Thomas likes him a lot.”
Would a return for John Stones on a free make any sense for Everton? 🧐
His experience could prove priceless! 🏆
Rio Ferdinand has waxed lyrical about Stones and the passing ability he can bring to any side he is playing in.
Adding a player of his quality would certainly be a big boost for a club like Everton, but Stones would not come without his own issues.
The defender’s injury record is no secret and it should certainly concern those at Everton, if a deal is being considered.
There is a belief that Stones would be open to returning to Everton this summer, but the club must decide carefully given Jarrad Branthwaite’s own injury issues.
One thing that is clear is just what Moyes thinks of the defender.
The Scot has a real admiration for players who bring experience to his sides, which can be seen through the lack of involvement from Everton’s younger players.
Stones would certainly provide a lot of winning experience following a decade at Man City, but it is a decision Everton need to think long and hard about over the coming weeks.
