Moyes has been keen to sign John McGinn from Aston Villa and his recent performances have certainly proven the 63-year-old’s judgement correct.

David Moyes’ John McGinn interest proven correct at Everton

Alan Stubbs previously tried to encourage McGinn to join Everton following their time together in Edinburgh, with Hibernian.

The 31-year-old fits the mould of a typical Moyes signing given his age and experience, but it is a signing that could really add to Everton’s options.

On Friday evening the Scottish midfielder tore Liverpool apart at Villa Park and scored a stunning strike from outside of the box.

Jack Grealish is a huge fan of McGinn having also spent time playing alongside the midfielder at Villa Park.

Despite his age, McGinn has played a key role in Villa’s season.

The midfielder has netted five goals in both the Premier League and the Europa League, with seven assists provided across all competitions.

Villa have instantly shut down Everton’s interest in McGinn, which goes to show just how important a player he remains despite being over the age of 30.

Moyes’ recruitment policy has been clear since he returned to Merseyside: experienced, Premier League-proven players.

McGinn certainly fits that bill and he is a player who fans will surely feel could actually raise the levels at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
