David Moyes, now in his second spell with Everton, will hope he doesn’t make a transfer blunder like this one.
Moyes made some incredible signings in his first spell as Everton boss.
Tim Cahill, Marouane Fellaini, Kevin Mirallas, and so many more who have turned into heroes around Goodison Park.
Cahill was certainly one of the earlier signings, with the Aussie joining the club in 2004, but John Stones was Moyes’ last Everton signing in his first spell.
This doesn’t count for the transfers that were missed and many deals in Moyes’ first spell never came to fruition.
One, which came as Moyes’ biggest transfer regret, was a midfielder loved by Chelsea fans.

David Moyes wished he signed Chelsea legend for Everton
With Moyes building his second dynasty at Everton, he’ll be hoping he can emulate his first spell, and will have to try and replicate the squads he built at Goodison the first time around.
The Scotsman clearly had a keen eye for talent, but he could also replicate his former players, as Tim Iroegbunam could be Moyes’ next Fellaini.
Midfielder’s is certainly a category Moyes got right, and will be hoping he does the same this transfer window.
Despite having solid options, the likes of James Garner and Idrissa Gana Gueye will have to do well to eclipse Chelsea icon Michael Essien, whom Moyes wanted whilst the Ghanaian was at French side Bastia.
Moyes said Essien was his biggest transfer regret at Everton, as when managing West Ham, Moyes spoke to beIN Sports after being asked who he wished he had signed (14/04/2020): “One of them would be Michael Essien.”

Moyes can replicate Essien with the current flock at Everton
It would be a hard feat to achieve, but Moyes can bring an Essien-like figure through at Everton.
Iroegbunam is comparable to many midfielders, and he seems like he could be Moyes’ biggest project at Everton, as the 21-year-old has a comparable game compared to the former Chelsea man.
Garner is another who has the ability as the 23-year-old could be well on his way to reaching a strong status in the Premier League, especially under Moyes.
Everton missed a bargain in Callum Hudson-Odoi, and if the next Essien emerges, Moyes will want to make sure he gets it right this time.
