David Moyes kept his cards close to his chest in his press conference at Everton earlier on Friday.
The Glaswegian was tight-lipped on whether Everton would be signing a replacement for Jack Grealish, after the England international suffered a serious foot injury.
The 62-year-old also failed to provide any update on Beto amid rumours Fenerbahce have bid for the Everton No.9 after agreeing to loan Youssef En-Nesyri to Juventus.
David Moyes did – however – share what he shouted at Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye after the pair returned to Finch Farm following their Africa Cup of Nations success.
Everton fans, let’s hear your score predictions for the Leeds United game!
Can the Toffees build on that brilliant win vs Aston Villa? 🤔
David Moyes says “thank goodness” Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye failed to hear him
The Everton boss revealed that the Senegal internationals only returned to Finch Farm about 30 minutes before his press conference, which took place at 1:30pm on Friday.
Upon seeing the pair, Moyes told reporters he shouted at them. When pushed to reveal what exactly it was he yelled, he said: “They couldn’t hear me – thank goodness – through the glass (but I said) what kept you getting back?”
As far as Instagram has told us, Gueye and Ndiaye – who sent a message to Everton fans – have been busy celebrating after Senegal beat Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations last Sunday.
It is quite late for the pair to return ahead of the clash against Leeds on Monday night, but if they managed to avoid any injuries out in Morocco, then we see no reason why one of them – if not both – could feature off the bench.
What Everton did to congratulate Idrissa Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye
With the Africa Cup of Nations winners now back on Merseyside, Everton opted to decorate the canteen in Senegalese colours, including balloons and cupcakes with their faces on them.
What concerns do you have about Iliman Ndiaye leaving Everton in the summer?😫
Surely Everton must hand him a new contract!
It was Thierno Barry who showed the decorations on Instagram, posting a video of Morocco international Adam Aznou looking upset as Everton honoured the Senegal internationals – who of course defeated Morocco in the final.
Everton also lit the Hill Dickinson Stadium up in the colours of Senegal directly after they won the Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.
Hopefully, it means Moyes has two players full of confidence and ready to give 100% in the second half of the season.
