David Moyes responds when asked if Harrison Armstrong will stay at Everton beyond the transfer deadline

Everton advanced to the third round of the Carabao Cup last night after beating Mansfield Town 2-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Carlos Alcaraz opened the scoring with a brilliant right-footed strike before Beto tapped one home just before full-time.

Jack Grealish looks really threatening again and was even being booed by the Mansfield fans, who knew he was the difference maker.

David Moyes handed Tyler Dibling his debut, and he was constantly showing for the ball during his 30-minute cameo.

Harrison Armstrong was another notable performer, and now Moyes has responded to a question about his future amid links to the Championship.

David Moyes on Harrison Armstrong’s Everton future

Armstrong has been linked with a move to the Championship this summer, with Derby County, Blackburn Rovers and Hull City keen.

It’s understood Everton have been considering a loan, and when asked if the teenager will stay beyond the transfer deadline, Moyes seemed undecided.

“We’ll see. I thought Harrison played well. Thought Jimmy Garner played very well… thought both of them done (well).

“Harrison for his age done really well tonight, played well, so yeah there is a couple of options we’ve got for Harrison so we’ll decide over the next few days what we’re doing to do.”

According to Sofascore, Armstrong was the joint-highest rated player last night, along with the goalscorer Alcaraz.

The teenager registered two assists, and his passing was near perfect, as he boasted a 92% completion rate.

Armstrong’s defensive work rate was also excellent as he won four duels against a physical League One outfit.

He’s certainly done enough to warrant staying around the first-team, but Moyes may want to accelerate his development by sending him on loan to the second tier again after a productive six months at Derby.
