Everton head into Christmas on the back of back-to-back defeats with Arsenal securing a 1-0 win over the Blues.
David Moyes was left a frustrated figure on the sideline as he watched his side push for a point in the second half.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium displayed a stunning tifo in the south stand prior to kick-off, but some of the Everton players did not match the energy in the stands.
Heading into the game, Moyes had a big decision to make as to whether he would provide Tyler Dibling with what would be only his second Premier League start of the term.
Instead, Moyes snubbed Dibling for Dwight McNeil, who eventually was replaced by the 19-year-old with 15 minutes to go.
It was a controversial decision from Moyes which did not pay off, but he did explain his thinking.

David Moyes explains Everton snub of Tyler Dibling for Dwight McNeil
Some Everton fans were not impressed with what they saw from Dibling, but the youngster was only handed the final 15 minutes of the game.
When Dibling was brought on, the home supporters made their feelings known as they gave the youngster a huge ovation.
Speaking to the Everton media team before kick off, Moyes explained his decision to select McNeil over Dibling.
What do you make of Tyler Dibling being SNUBBED for Dwight McNeil? 😡
“Dwight is an experienced player and a really important player for us and has been in the past here,” said the 62-year-old.
“He has missed a few injuries when I came in to the Club, so he has the opportunity today.”
Angus Kinnear has been impressed with Dibling from what he has seen behind the scenes in Finch Farm training.
However, it would appear that the 62-year-old manager is still not feeling confident enough to start the youngster in the Premier League.
Tyler Dibling simply must start against Burnley
There was very little in McNeil’s performance that would warrant him starting against Burnley next Saturday.
Moyes has demanded Dibling to learn from Grealish in training, but he is not getting the minutes in the league to show his worth.
Who should be starting vs Burnley… Dibling or McNeil? 🙄
Everton spent big money to bring the young prospect to Merseyside and he has watched most of the season from the sidelines.
Dibling must be wondering what has gone wrong for him to be in this situation where he cannot even get a start ahead of McNeil.
