David Moyes has admitted he was really impressed with how Carlos Alcaraz played on his Everton debut over the weekend.
The game against Bournemouth on Saturday was a disappointing one for Everton who were dumped out of the FA Cup.
But there was one positive with Alcaraz impressing the Everton fans after coming on from the bench in the second half.
Moyes will be leading his side out for what is going to be the final Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
With a place in Everton history on the line, the 61-year-old is going to have some big decisions to make with the starting XI.
And the only January signing in Alcaraz will be desperate to make his full debut from the start.

David Moyes impressed by Carlos Alcaraz’s Everton debut
Jarrad Branthwaite has praised Alcaraz’s debut after what he saw in the Argentine midfielder’s brief display against the Cherries on the weekend.
And it seems as if the Everton manager also liked what he saw from the winter addition.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday ahead of the game at Goodison Park, Moyes was quizzed on Alcaraz’s debut.
“Well he done enough by his performance to start the game [vs Liverpool]. Whether I do or not is another thing,” said Moyes.
“I think sometimes when you bring people in you never know how long it’s going to take to settle, and I’ve got to say he settled very well in the game.
“It was only one game, mind you. And the other thing is on his side he’s got Premier League experience. So, he’s not completely new to this league.”
“But the decision will be made tomorrow.”
Moyes has admitted Alcaraz has to prove his worth at Everton if he is going to secure himself a permanent deal over the summer.
But the start to life on Merseyside has been bright for the 22-year-old midfielder.
Carlos Alcaraz could come in for Abdoulaye Doucoure
It would be a big call from Moyes to put Alcaraz in from the start in the Merseyside Derby.
However, there will be some fans calling out for it after what they saw from the Argentine midfielder on the weekend.
Abdoulaye Doucoure has praised Moyes after getting his first goal of the Premier League season under the Scotsman just the other week.
But Alcaraz’s creativity was there for all to see with the midfielder providing two key passes as well as cracking the post with a free kick.
