It was a disappointing night for Everton on Monday as they drew with struggling West Ham United.
Everton were the better side in the opening 20 minutes and got their reward with a goal, as Michael Keane headed home James Garner’s super cross.
But from then on, David Moyes’ side struggled to kick on and create chances, allowing West Ham to get back into the game through Jarrod Bowen in the second half.
It ended in a 1-1 draw, and speaking post-match, Duncan Ferguson believes the Toffees missed a proper striker.
Moyes had a slightly different analysis of the game.

David Moyes disappointed with Everton’s ‘decision making’ in final third
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Moyes admitted he was really disappointed with Everton’s decision-making in the final third.
“Disappointed we didn’t take all three points,” the Scotsman said. “It’s a home game, an opportunity for us. We had moments where we should have pressed the button a bit more and got the second half. We opened ourselves up for counter attacks.
“Kiernan had a good chance with his head to make it 2-0. We started the second half quite well for 20 minutes or so, if we got that second goal it would have been all-important. But we didn’t open up a clear-cut chance. Nothing made me really think we missed a really big chance.
Moyes added: “The decision making in the final third: can you make the right pass or cross to get the finish away? We didn’t get that right. We had a lot of the ball, we scored a good goal from a cross, but couldn’t find a way of making the second goal.”
Everton’s main issue is up front
As Ferguson said, the main issue for Everton at the moment seems to be up front, with neither Beto nor Thierno Barry delivering the goals.
Beto struggled to hold up the ball tonight and made just three accurate passes all game, which says it all really.
The Toffees need a focal point to play into, otherwise, the flair players like Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye have too much to do.
Barry has only started one Premier League game since joining in a £30m switch from Villarreal, so clearly Moyes doesn’t think he’s ready either.
Everton have been looking at signing a striker ahead of the January transfer window, with FC Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju’s linked with a move to Merseyside.
