David Moyes’ side threw away a two-goal lead against already-relegated Ipswich Town, with a number of below-par performances across the pitch.
Even Iliman Ndiaye was criticised by Everton fans after being largely ineffective operating in the number 10 position.
That’s prompted many to look forward to the summer transfer window in the hope of adding more quality to the squad.
And, Moyes has shared a positive chat he had with the Friedkin Group.

Friedkin Group give David Moyes assurances over summer budget
Speaking to BBC Sport, Moyes explained that he’s had assurances from the Friedkin Group over the budget this summer transfer window.
Duncan Ferguson asked: “I think all Evertonians want to know David, is there any money to spend in the summer for the team to try and rebuild and get to where we want to get to, maybe where you want to get to, is there a few quid there?”
Moyes replied: Yeah there is, I mean the Friedkin’s have said there’ll be money to spend. I think the biggest worry, this club has had money to spend over recent years and you know, in some ways, even our time Dunc and with Osy (Leon Osman), part of it was we didn’t have a great deal of money and we actually built probably better, you know slower.
“Sometimes, you know, you hate to think that the football’s all about money, you’d hope that football is still about, can we build a good team, can we get a good group of players together, good team spirit, might have a way of getting results.
“But look, it sounds as if money seems to be the thing that everyone wants to know, but the answer to your question Dunc is yes, we’re expecting the Friedkin’s to come up with some money and hopefully we can add to the squad.”
Everton already eyeing several transfer targets
Over the last few weeks, a number of transfer rumours have come out of Merseyside.
It’s understood Everton have their eye on Sunderland’s Chris Rigg, who is valued at around £40m by the Championship outfit.
Moyes has also been watching Maxime Esteve after his impressive performances in Burnley’s promotion-winning campaign.
A striker is clearly on the agenda, too, with Ipswich Town frontman Liam Delap heavily linked with a move to the Toffees.
So quite clearly, it’s set to be a transformative summer for Everton’s squad, with the Friedkin’s ready to splash the cash.
