David Moyes is out of management right now, but that hasn’t stopped him from telling a story about Thomas Gravesen and Wayne Rooney from when he was in charge of Everton.
Wayne Rooney and Thomas Gravesen had that cheek about them both on and off the field.
Everton knew they had a superstar on their hands when Wayne Rooney broke onto the scene as a young lad, but he was also a bit of a troublemaker.
Gravesen was a fiery character who took no nonsense and left it all out on the field. Even his past opponents, like Roy Keane, highlighted him as a ‘nasty’ player to play against.
David Moyes has made an admission about what the pair got up to at the Everton training ground, and it really isn’t unexpected when you take into consideration their personalities.

David Moyes shares what Wayne Rooney and Thomas Gravesen did at the Everton training ground
David Moyes enjoyed an 11-year spell at Everton and averaged 1.54 points per game during this time.
His man management was particularly good, but there was one time that he probably should’ve put his foot down but didn’t when an incident occurred involving Rooney and Gravesen.
Speaking on the Overlap, Moyes admitted that he completely turned a blind eye to the fact that Gravesen and Rooney were shooting fireworks at the Everton training ground.
“Wayne was at the training ground. It was the old one. Wayne and Tommy Gravesen had rockets and they were firing them at each other from one end of the gym.
“They were hitting the wall and the wall was going all black. We had a few boys like that!
I acted as if I didn’t know. I’ll let someone else deal with that!”
David Moyes’ links to a return to Everton
Interestingly, it’s been claimed that David Moyes is the man to replace Sean Dyche if he ends up being sacked at some point this season.
Moyes has been very coy on his future, suggesting that he’s tempted to get back into management, but also stated he’s enjoying his time off.
Everton fans know and respect Moyes from his time at the club, so it wouldn’t be a bad temporary appointment.
After all, he did manage to take West Ham all the way to win the Europa Conference League.
