David Moyes thought he wasn’t good enough for Everton, he’s just landed European move

Everton have already seen some of their recently departed players go on to excel at other clubs.

The example everyone will think of is Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is tearing it up with Leeds United.

Credit where credit is due, Everton saw Calvert-Lewin test the market as a free agent and it is a move which is certainly paying off for the striker.

However, there are also some players who left over the summer who are not particularly excelling away from David Moyes.

Neal Maupay is enduring a torrid time with Marseille on the back of his permanent departure over the summer.

There is another former Toffee who has just joined another club this month and he has landed himself a fantastic move.

Jack Harrison lands himself eye-catching transfer after Everton exit

After the end of last season, Everton returned Jack Harrison to Leeds United after rejecting any opportunity to make his stay permanent.

It has not been the 2025/26 season that Harrison would have hoped for, having barely played for the Whites.

Earlier this week, though, the 29-year-old secured himself a move to Italy with Fiorentina.

Should Everton have kept Jack Harrison for squad depth? 😬

Probably could have offered more than Tyler Dibling 🤷‍♂️

Harrison has joined on loan until the end of the season, with the Serie A outfit holding a £6m option to make his stay permanent.

Thierno Barry trained with Harrison over the summer prior to his move to Everton, but only one of them was signed by the Blues.

Despite barely making an impact on the Premier League in recent years, Harrison will now find himself competing in the Europa Conference League.

What David Moyes previously said about Jack Harrison at Everton

Months on from Harrison’s Everton exit, Moyes finds himself demanding more from Jack Grealish, who has only scored twice this season.

It may be an improvement on what Harrison offered last season, but Everton still need more from those wide positions.

Would you even pay £30m for Jack Grealish? 🫣

There is some irony in this given Moyes publicly criticised Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom for their lack of goal contributions last year.

“Well, let’s be fair. You won’t have longevity if you’re not going to get me assists and you’re not going to get me goals,” Moyes said.

Although Grealish is providing assists, it just goes to show how keen the 62-year-old is for his wingers to chip in with goals on Merseyside.
