Everton face an interesting January transfer window ahead of them with so many important players going down through injury recently.

There was a lot of business done over the summer on Merseyside, with The Friedkin Group showing their backing of David Moyes.

Recent injury setbacks will have made next month even more important for Everton, given their big ambitions for the remainder of the season.

Everton News columnist Alan Myers is hoping to see at least three Everton signings when the window opens at the turn of the year.

More work in the market was needed on the back of the summer, where not every need could be ticked off the list.

The 62-year-old Everton manager has made no secret of his desire to sign some new faces in January, but he could be in for a big surprise.

Fabrizio Romano shares shock Everton transfer update

Already this week, Fabrizio Romano issued an update on Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish’s future at Everton ahead of the summer window.

However, all eyes are now firmly set on the winter market, with Everton needing to add more quality and depth to their squad.

Speaking on the Men in Blazers podcast, Romano has shared what he is hearing about Everton’s plans for the January window.

You can only pick one in January, who are you taking? 🤔

“Look, at the moment, still nothing imminent. I can guarantee to you, Everton are not desperate to add players in January if there is the right opportunity, but they are not desperate for that. So they are looking at opportunities for sure,” he said.

“But at the moment, what I’m told is patience, still nothing really imminent. So I’m sorry for you, but I’m sure very soon I will have updates. So we will stay in touch.”

Reports elsewhere have suggested that Everton are looking to sign a new striker to bolster their strength in front of goal.

Having lost so many key players, Moyes will surely not be a big fan of Romano’s latest update suggesting the Toffees are not going to be desperately trying to sign players next month.

What David Moyes has said about Everton’s January plans

Moyes was delighted with Everton’s summer business, but there has to be a feeling at Finch Farm that they are still light in certain areas.

A nervous wait lies ahead of Everton fans as they prepare for the worst when it comes to the injury updates ahead of Arsenal.

There are now three games to play until Everton can dive into the transfer market, and Moyes has made it clear he wants to see signings come through the doors.

How many signings do you want to see made in January? 💰

Moyes wants Everton to push for European qualification this season and they may only be able to do so by adding more quality in January.

Recent results have been much-improved, but the injuries to the likes of Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could prove a huge blow.
