Everton are setting their sights on a new striker signing in January and they already have a target in their sights who has spoken to The Friedkin Group.
It has been a strange season for Everton, who have already seen plenty of ups and downs in the Premier League campaign.
David Moyes has seen a lot to get excited about as his side remain sitting inside the top half despite their defeat at the weekend against Chelsea.
However, there is still clear room for improvement as Everton want to target the European spots.
It would require a stunning campaign for the Toffees to secure European qualification, with Everton clearly needing a lot more goals to do so.
Everton are going into January targeting a new striker and The Friedkin Group may already have the upper hand in landing one particular target.

Everton eyeing AS Roma striker Artem Dovbyk
It has been suggested that Roma could offer Beto with an Everton exit in January, which could open the door to a possible swap deal.
The Friedkins own both clubs and could potentially organise a swap deal between the Italian and English outfits.
An update on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel has now suggested that Artem Dovbyk could be a striker who could swap Rome for Liverpool in January.
How many goals could Artem Dovbyk score in the Premier League? 💪
He has struggled in the 2025/26 season, though…
It is not yet known whether the Ukraine international would be open to the prospect of moving to Everton when the window opens, though.
With Everton failing to see the best form from Beto in the 2025/26 campaign, it could be an option for the Blues to explore.
Everton News understands that Everton would be open to offloading Beto in January, with Moyes failing to be impressed by the 27-year-old.
Despite hitting some form under the Scotsman last season, that form has proven to be nothing more than a purple patch.
What Artem Dovbyk has already said about the Friedkins
The 28-year-old Ukraine international only joined Roma last summer from the Spanish outfit Girona.
When he joined the Italian side, the striker spoke about the conversations he had with the Roma and Everton owners.
How much could Everton realistically get for Beto in January? 😬
Or should he even be starting ahead of Thierno Barry?
“I spoke with Dan and Ryan, I had never spoken to the President before in a transfer,” he told the Roma media team.
“All this convinced me to come here. Roma is one of the best clubs in Italy and I believe in this project, so I hope we can do something interesting this season.”
The Friedkins are set to announce Roma’s new stadium this week, with Dan Friedkin potentially set to make an appearance.
Despite not showing his face on Merseyside, Friedkin could play a major role in convincing Dovbyk to make the leap to the Premier League in January.
His time in Italy may have been a struggle so far, but he could well flourish with the physical nature of the Premier League.
