After a weekend of no football, next on the agenda for Everton is a trip to Wolves.
Everton have been training in the UAE ahead of the game, with David Moyes looking to prepare his side for a difficult Premier League run-in.
The Brentford draw highlighted some of Moyes’ mistakes, so the Toffees boss will be ultra keen to write those wrongs at Molineux.
The Wolves game is the first of a difficult set of fixtures against the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal in the coming weeks.
With that being said, Moyes’ preparations for the trip to Molineux may have just changed following news that Wolves will be without their main man.

Wolves main man Matheus Cunha will miss Everton game
Wolves, unlike Everton, were in FA Cup action this weekend – facing off against fellow Premier League outfit Bournemouth.
After drawing 1-1 in regular time, Vitor Periera’s side would eventually lose out 5-4 on penalties. The game, however, would be mired in controversy following Matheus Cunha’s reckless red card.
Having got his side back into the game with a spectacular goal, the Brazilian would then let his temper get the better of him and lash out at Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez – a moment which Martin Keown described as ‘ugly’ on Match of the Day.
Cunha is now expected to be suspended for at least three games, meaning he will be absent for Everton’s trip to Birmingham – something Moyes will no doubt be overjoyed about.
Everton will now fancy their chances against Wolves
Despite ten points being separating the two sides, Everton will see the Wolves game as the perfect opportunity to further cement their survival chances.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 15 | 27 | 9 | 6 | 12 | 32 | 47 | -15 | 33 | |
| 16 | 27 | 7 | 11 | 9 | 30 | 34 | -4 | 32 | |
| 17 | 27 | 6 | 4 | 17 | 37 | 56 | -19 | 22 |
With that being said, the Toffees will now fancy their chances against Wolves even more so now – with no Cunha to deal with.
Having contributed to 19 goals this season, the Brazilian has been a bright spark in a disappointing season for Periera’s men and he would have no doubt been at the top of Moyes’ priorities if he was playing.
