There is no game for Everton this weekend following their elimination from the FA Cup just the other week.

David Moyes’ side are currently on a seven-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, however.

And the players will now be enjoying a well-deserved break after Everton jetted off for a warm-weather training camp.

Not only will this provide the Toffees with an opportunity to take stock, it will also give the 61-year-old manager an opportunity to get to know his players a bit better.

It has been pretty full-on since Moyes returned to Merseyside, as he has managed to drag Everton 15 points clear of the relegation zone.

But it has not been an easy ride with numerous injury issues which has opened the door for other players to try and show their worth.

David Moyes impressed with Jack Harrison in Everton training

Jack Harrison has struggled at Everton this season, with the winger really struggling to find his best form.

There have been some more promising signs of late following his game time picked up after Iliman Ndiaye’s injury.

Everton released some footage from their United Arab Emirates training camp on Friday where it could be heard Moyes praising Harrison.

The 28-year-old winger was whipping in some crosses during a training exercise and it clearly impressed Moyes.

“Good boy, what a good ball! Great goal,” said Moyes as Harrison provided the cross for a Carlos Alcaraz goal.

Moyes was left frustrated with Harrison on Wednesday night against Brentford after a poor corner from the winger.

But it looks as if the Leeds United loanee is winning his manager back over with quality being shown in their training camp.

Jack Harrison is playing for his Everton future

Ahead of the season, Harrison tipped himself to make double figure goal contributions; he is yet to score or assist.

It has not been the season the 28-year-old would have been hoping for.

Moyes thinks Harrison has lost some confidence during Sean Dyche’s time at the helm on Merseyside.

Slowly, he does seem to be clawing some of that missing confidence back and the encouragement from Moyes will certainly be helping that.

Jake O’Brien has praised Moyes since he was appointed in January and it is apparent he is having a positive effect on the side.
