An astonishing story is developing for Everton’s first Premier League game against Leeds United as Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be playing for the opposition.

In an extraordinary turn of events, Calvert-Lewin, who was once Everton’s main man, could be donning the white of Leeds.

This adds more tension to what is already a massive game for both clubs, who are looking to get off to the perfect start.

Leeds look set to land Calvert-Lewin in what is a risky move by the Whites, but Evertonians will know how good he can be.

After his short time with him, David Moyes might know how to contain the striker, but the scriptwriters would love for something to be repeated at Elland Road.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin ended goal drought against Leeds United and same could be repeated vs Everton

It’s certainly an uncomfortable situation as a Toffees fan, with their recently departed striker having the chance to haunt them.

Calvert-Lewin wants £150k-a-week, showing there was no reason to continue on with the 28-year-old, taking into account his poor form as well.

Towards the end of his tenure, the striker hadn’t scored since January 2024, in a 3-2 win against Tottenham.

Previously at Elland Road, Calvert-Lewin ended a previous goal drought, and he could do the same, but this time against Everton.

In 2021, the striker had to wait until the February fixture to end a run of games starting from December 2020, as the Toffees ran out 2-1 winners.

Considering that by the time he joins Leeds, he wouldn’t have scored since January, there is every chance a repeat can occur in West Yorkshire.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s performance vs Leeds United shows how much threat he can bring vs Everton

Of course, the 2020/21 season was a while back, and the striker’s fortunes have worsened, but a move to Leeds could revitalise his career.

Moyes and the Everton defenders will know the striker is dangerous, and his performance on that day at Elland Road shows what threat he can bring against the Toffees.

Leeds fans aren’t happy with Calvert-Lewin’s potential arrival, but if he can replicate the success of his days under Carlo Ancelotti, Daniel Farke’s side will have hit the jackpot, as his aerial ability will be the main worry for Everton.

The striker has proven to be lethal at times in his career, and a chance to prove Moyes wrong will be the first thing on his mind.
