Speculation continues to swirl around Dominic Calvert-Lewin and his future at Everton.

The striker stands to leave the club at the end of the current season when his contract expires.

Calvert-Lewin is thought to have a number of clubs interested in his services at the moment, with his contract situation certainly adding to his appeal.

He’s free to talk to other clubs about joining in the summer on a pre-contract.

But Calvert-Lewin could also leave this month in a cut-price deal if Everton don’t want to lose him on a free at the end of the season.

One report has now suggested what the player’s current stance is regarding a potential new deal with Everton.

It has been claimed by Caught Offside that Calvert-Lewin is ‘in no particular’ hurry to decide his future at this moment in time.

Seemingly, the plan is for him to keep his options open.

Last month, it was reported that Arsenal are considering a move for Calvert-Lewin. Atalanta are also understood to be keen on Calvert-Lewin.

Caught Offside report on the interest from AC Milan, and claim the Italian giants are preparing to make a ‘big effort’ to sign the 27-year-old.

They are keen to beat Premier League sides West Ham United and Newcastle United to the Everton number nine, who has scored just two goals this season.

Understandable Calvert-Lewin is in no rush

The situation – and the speculation it naturally brings – is not ideal for Everton.

But it’s understandable that Calvert-Lewin isn’t keen to make a decision on his future right now, with there being major uncertainty about which division Everton will be playing in next season.

It’s possible Calvert-Lewin is interested in extending, having been settled at Everton for many years now. And he’d surely be excited about the potential to play for Everton in the Premier League in the new stadium from next season and likely under a new manager.

It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens, but Sean Dyche failed to completely rule out a move for Calvert-Lewin, so that cut-price exit is definitely a possibility.
