Changes are on the horizon at Everton, with The Friedkin Group having recently taken over the club.

2025 is a year many Evertonians are really excited about, with the club having gone nowhere quickly under Farhad Moshiri.

But there is fresh optimism now with TFG at the helm, and this year will see lots of changes to the squad.

A lot of players are out of contract at the end of the season, and discussions will now be taking place regarding who should be sold this month to avoid losing them for free.

One player who’s out of contract in the summer of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Calvert-Lewin has been linked with Atalanta, and today, Sean Dyche has responded to speculation about the striker.

Calvert-Lewin has faced criticism this season for his lack of productivity in the final third.

The 27-year-old has scored just two goals this season, and has not found the net since September against Aston Villa.

Jermaine Beckford recently accused Calvert-Lewin of having gotten ‘comfortable’ at Everton, and certainly, he hasn’t really had the greatest push from others in recent times.

Calvert-Lewin is of interest to Atalanta, who are said to have asked for information on the player. Arsenal are also thought to hold some interest in Calvert-Lewin.

But Dyche has suggested he won’t be leaving this month.

He said at his press conference today: “No, there’s been no contact from anyone.

“There’s bound to be rumours, there’s bound to be conjecture, that’s the nature of it.”

Asked if it would ‘make sense’ to let him go if an offer were to come in, Dyche replied: “I think we’ll think about that if that happens. As there’s been no contact, there’s been no discussions needed.”

Everton can’t lose Calvert-Lewin despite poor form right now

So it doesn’t sound as though there’s anything going on with Calvert-Lewin at the moment, despite his contract situation.

Everton should probably be looking to keep hold of him, unless a really good offer arrives this window.

Appearances – 265
Goals – 70
Assists – 19

Because, while he may not be in good form right now, Calvert-Lewin is still a proven goalscorer at Premier League level, and has the potential to come good.

Arguably, he’s more likely to put a goalscoring run together than Beto, who has been linked with Torino.
