David Moyes is preparing for a major squad overhaul at Everton this summer.
Everton have several first-teamers out of contract and David Moyes has admitted that it’s not an ideal scenario.
“It’s a situation you don’t see very often,” Moyes said last month. “I’m not saying there’s not 10 or 11 players out of contract at other clubs, but we’ve got five on loan, so we’ve got to give those players back unless we’re going to buy them.
“So it’s an unprecedented situation I see when I’ve come in. Do I really want a huge overhaul? Probably not.
But, that’s the cards he’s been dealt and the Friedkin Group will compensate and invest heavily into the squad.
There is now a worrying update, however, on one of their best players as Everton fans react to the transfer development.

Everton fans worried at latest Idrissa Gana Gueye update
Idrissa Gana Gueye remains in talks to sign a renewal at Everton, with the veteran midfielder demanding a two-year contract.
The Toffees have only offered a one-year deal as it stands, and now clubs are being alerted to his situation.
Stade Rennais are showing an interest in landing Idrissa Gana Gueye’s signature and supporters have had a lot to say about that on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Don’t you dare leave us again Idrissa,” @EFC_Centre said.
“Don’t let him go ffs,” @CombatsCasual added.
@guy_peter82224 posted: “Get it done Everton!”
@LiamT30EFC commented: “Get him f—— boxed off.”
“Don’t you f—— dare,” @BJonesEFCx posted.
@mrm24_6 simply said: “Trouble.”
Everton should agree to Gueye’s demands
It’s vitally important Gueye extends his stay on Merseyside, with the club heading into a transitional period in their history.
They will need his experience at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium, so the Friedkins should agree to his demands and offer him a two-year deal.
After all, Gueye was recently named Everton’s Player of the Season, showing absolutely no signs of slowing down at all.
Moyes, speaking in April, admitted that his teammates view him as a ‘top player’.
“I think he’s very good at breaking the play up and I think his experience is good,” the Scotsman said.
“There’s a certain group of players here who he’s very helpful to and they see him as a top player and a gentleman as well, they rely on him a lot, but for me, he’s done so well.”
