Everton need a new right-back, and an intriguing claim has been made relating to target Emil Holm.
The Toffees have mostly had Jake O’Brien playing as right-back this season, which has been a common occurrence pretty much since David Moyes returned to the club.
While O’Brien has had some good outings there, the feeling for many is that the Toffees really need a specialist for the position.
A more natural fit is needed, so that O’Brien can play in the middle.
A number of players have been linked with Everton in recent days, with Brooke Norton-Cuffy among those considered.
Ben White is also of interest to Everton, although any move there seems highly unlikely.
And Emil Holm has also been linked with Everton – and one publication has made an interesting claim that could see a deal come to fruition.
Bologna eyeing Nathan Patterson

Nathan Patterson has made a few appearances for Everton recently after recovering from injury.
The Scot started at the weekend against Sunderland, and earned praise from fans for his display in the defeat.
Patterson has been the subject of exit talk recently, but the suspension of Michael Keane perhaps gives him an unlikely window of opportunity.
Could Nathan Patterson have offered Everton more from right-back than Jake O’Brien? 🤔
But he could still depart, and according to Il Resto del Carlino, he has emerged as a target for none other than Bologna.
And that’s interesting, because that is Holm’s club – which may well point to some kind of swap deal.
Everton could seek Patterson and Holm swap deal
With Bologna reportedly having interest in Patterson, that has to mean there’s potential for some kind of swap deal.
It has actually been suggested that Bologna have made contact with regards to Patterson.

Given Holm’s value is likely higher, it may well be that any kind of exchange would require Everton to throw some cash into the deal.
While Patterson did well at the weekend, it seems his days at the Hill Dickinson Stadium could well be numbered.
