Everton have a few weeks to get any transfer business done – and a somewhat surprising claim has been made this afternoon.

David Moyes has not yet signed any players, with fans now starting to clamour for new additions.

European football is very much still a possibility, and supporters are urging The Friedkin Group to stick their hands in their pockets to give the squad a boost.

What will you think about TFG if Everton don’t address their needs in the winter window? 🤔

The pressure is on The Friedkin Group according to Alan Myers…

A new right-back is high on the agenda for Everton, as is a new striker.

Youssef En-Nesyri is the big talking point at the moment for Everton, as they seek to strike a deal with Fenerbahce.

But something we haven’t heard too much about is the need for a new midfielder, with Moyes having several options.

But today, Everton have been linked with an English midfielder who’s been playing abroad for the past few years.

According to TEAMtalk, Everton are one of several Premier League clubs looking at Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Loftus-Cheek left the Premier League in the summer of 2023 to join AC Milan from Chelsea, in a deal worth around.

But the 29-year-old could be set for a return to the English top-flight.

Apparently, intermediaries have offered the player to a number of Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, Manchester United, Newcastle, Brentford, Everton, Sunderland and Fulham, for whom he had a loan spell with.

Said intermediaries have reportedly intimated that AC Milan would be willing to let Loftus-Cheek leave them on a loan basis this month, with an option to buy in the summer.

The link comes amid Loftus-Cheek struggling for consistent game time at Milan, and he is said to be open to taking up a new challenge.

What Frank Lampard said about Loftus-Cheek

It remains to be seen if Everton will properly throw their hat in for Loftus-Cheek.

At the moment, we all know that the two most pressing positions in need of strengthening are right-back and striker.

It’s unclear whether Everton actually would be interested in this, or if it’s just intermediaries offering him around.

But Loftus-Cheek is a player who could really shine in the Premier League given his physical and technical qualities. It didn’t work out for him previously, but he’s a lot more experienced now.

A few years ago, former Everton manager Frank Lampard sang Loftus-Cheek’s praises having worked with him at Chelsea. He said in defence of him back in 2020 (via Sky Sports): “And he’s a hugely talented player, a great lad, so there will be lots more to come from Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

“Unfortunately the nature of this game is very reactionary, and people will say it as they see it, but knowing Ruben’s story behind the scenes, then he’s fought back really hard to get where he is and he’s a very, very talented player.”

Certainly, if he is to head back to England, it’ll be very intriguing to see who he signs for.
