Everton have yet to sign any new players this month, and the club are now being linked with a new target.
David Moyes has just over two weeks left to strengthen his squad ahead of the second half of the season.
Everton are still in a decent position right now despite some poor results recently, and fans are hoping that The Friedkin Group will release the purse strings in the coming days to give a greater chance of securing European football.
A new striker now looks less likely… how do you feel about that?
A new striker is high on Everton’s agenda, with Youssef En-Nesyri thought to be the top target, although there have been links to Tammy Abraham and Callum Wilson.
Everton also want a new right-back.
But today, the Toffees have been linked with move for a winger from the Bundesliga.
Everton eyeing Wolfsburg winger Patrick Wimmer

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Everton are one of a few clubs interested in signing Patrick Wimmer, who plays for Wolfsburg.
Galetti reports in his Substack that Everton and Fulham are currently showing the most interest in the Austria international.
Wimmer has been with Wolfsburg since 2022, when he joined from Admira Wacker in Austria.
Wimmer will have just one year left on his contract in the summer, so it looks as though Wolfsburg could be tempted to cash in now before his value starts plummeting.
Galetti stresses that no advanced negotiations are in place for Everton or Fulham yet.
The Premier League clubs aren’t the only sides interested though. Apparently, there’s also an audience in Italy, with Lazio, Bologna, and Fiorentina all keen.
Wolfsburg are said to be open to listening to suitable offers, with a January exit possible.
The claim comes after Everton were linked with another wide player in Noa Lang, who Napoli are looking to offload.
Patrick Wimmer plays like a young Marco Reus
Wimmer, 24, has three goals and six assists so far this season in 17 appearances, and WhoScored rank him as the German club’s third best performer this season.
He is notable for his pace and athleticism, and the official Bundesliga website previously compared him to Marco Reus in terms of style of play.
Their description of him read: “Wimmer is at his best when he gets the ball at the feet and is able to run at opposition defenders, using his pace and ball control to get into dangerous positions either for a cross or to take a shot himself. At times, his game is reminiscent of a young Marco Reus.”

They also offer an exciting verdict from Wolfsburg’s former sporting director Marcel Schäfer, who said: “He’s versatile, can play on either wing but also be used as a second striker or right-back. He brings power, energy and pace.
“He also possesses great shooting ability, plays without inhibition, creates chances and has an eye for his teammates. He wants to keep getting better and he will certainly enhance our game.”
The Athletic also ran an interesting feature about Wimmer in January 2023, and suggested that his biggest quality was creating chances for others. They supplied data that had him rubbing shoulders with Lionel Messi and Kevin De Bruyne in terms of average big chances created per game.
