Everton are now finding themselves in a real battle to land the signature of Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Moroccan did his stocks no harm earlier in the week after scoring the penalty to send his side through to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.

David Moyes is one of the managers who is seemingly keen to bring the striker to his club before the window shuts.

A deal for En-Nesyri will not be possible before the final, which will be held on Sunday.

A new striker is what Moyes wants to sign at Everton this month following the dismal start to the season from Thierno Barry and Beto.

However, what Fabrizio Romano has now been told about the striker may not be what those at Everton will want to hear.

Fabrizio Romano shares Youssef En-Nesyri transfer update involving Everton

It is not just En-Nesyri on the radar at Finch Farm, it has also been claimed that Everton hold an interest in Callum Wilson.

A move for the 33-year-old Premier League veteran may well be looking more appealing with other clubs battling for En-Nesyri.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has now shed some light on just what Fenerbahce are doing to offload En-Nesyri this month.

Surely any hungry striker would leap at the chance to play in the Premier League? 🫣

“En Nesyri has been offered practically everywhere by Fenerbahce. He’s been offered to Everton,” said Romano.

“Everton have expressed interest on loan with an option to buy. Fenerbahce is looking for a club that can pay En-Nesyri’s full salary and offer a minimum guarantee on a potential summer buyout.

“So Fenerbahce is looking for solutions; En-Nesyri must leave. This is what Fenerbahce is trying to do, and so, given their good relations with Napoli, they’ve proposed this possibility to Napoli – En-Nesyri has been offered to Napoli.”

Everton are willing to pay En-Nesyri’s full salary with their offer of an initial loan deal until the end of the campaign.

But it seems as if Fenerbahce already hold a solid relationship with Napoli, which could well give the Serie A side an advantage in the race.

Everton don’t have time to waste in the transfer market

Two weeks have already flown by in the January transfer market, and Everton are still yet to see any new faces come into the club.

Moyes has demanded more from Beto and Barry, who have combined for a total of just five goals between them this season.

How big of a risk is this for Everton? 😫

Despite knowing where the weaknesses of the squad were, it looks like Everton have entered the window without any real conviction.

Big targets have been set for this season by those within the club.

Everton want to push for a European spot, but the approach to the winter market is not one of a side who is looking to make a big leap forward.
