Everton are already plotting their January business.
The Toffees made seven new additions during the summer transfer window but reinforcements are still required if they’re to push up the league.
So, like a lot of the clubs at the foot of the table, Everton are expected to dip into the transfer market this window.
With that said, it’s just emerged that they’re monitoring a very highly-rated Championship midfielder.

Everton are keeping tabs on Chris Rigg
According to Alan Nixon, Everton are tracking Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg.
The 17-year-old has been on their shortlist for two years and now he’s wanted by a whole host of clubs across England.
Merseyside rivals Liverpool are understood to be interested, as are Manchester United, so clearly competition for his signature is rife.
League One outfit Birmingham are planning an ambitious swoop for Rigg, too.
Chris Rigg profile
Rigg has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in the Championship and is a regular for England youth teams.
The 2007-born typically operates as an advanced midfielder, picking the ball up in pockets of space and using his wand of a left foot to create chances.
Rigg, who’s been labelled a ‘wonderkid’ per the Manchester Evening News, is valued at around £25m, so it remains to be seen if Everton are willing to outlay that kind of cash in January.
